Sustainable Saturdays

About Sustainable Saturday

First Saturday of each month, 10am-2pm. Events are also listed on our calendar and our Facebook page

Sustainable Saturdays is a monthly event, currently held at St Andrew's Church in the town centre. Following a break due to Covid-19, it is now back, and each event will feature at least some of:

  • stalls for small businesses selling environmentally-friendly products

  • craft demonstrations

  • awareness and campaigning for ethical causes - short presentations, lectures or leaflets

  • held in various locations around Rugby, not just town centre

  • seed swap, plant swaps for gardeners

  • entertainment

  • refreshments

Taking Part

We'd love to hear from you if you're interested in having a space at Sustainable Saturdays, or if you'd like to help as a volunteer.

We have a detailed FAQ document to help you get involved, or you can skip to the bottom of this page to fill out the interest form.

Growing Sustainable Saturdays

This regular event is a great way to spread awareness of climate change issues and promote local sustainable businesses. We would like to see it grow and reach more people around Rugby, especially those who either don't know much about sustainable living, or who don't know where to start.

What a Great Idea! But It's Too Far Away...

We are very keen to encourage other venues around Rugby to host a Sustainable Saturday event using our blueprint. Transition Rugby will assist you getting started with everything you need to know. Potential venues would be responsible for sourcing their own stallholders and volunteers, however we will be happy to share our list of contacts and help to promote the event.
