A series of events offering an opportunity to think about climate and related issues, and discuss solutions - local, national, international
Thursday 11th September 2025 - Severn Trent and Water Efficiency
In our September Thinking Thursday we address topical concerns from drought to sewage releases by thinking about us each living more effectively with saving water in Rugby.
We host guest speaker, Ed Ruane, Stakeholder Engagement Manager from Severn Trent, to talk about water saving to stimulate our further thinking about solutions we could each incorporate into our life along with discussion on initiating more community-led activities to be more water-efficient:
Record-> our baseline individual households' demands by measuring with meters and sharing that information;
REDUCE -> burden on supply with water-saving actions that cut household consumption;
REUSE -> water where possible, such as for the garden, flushing and cleaning;
REPAIR -> any leaks or other causes of excess consumption, or that inhibit restoration of supplies;
RECYCLE -> by collecting rainwater using water butts;
REGENERATE -> by restoration to improve biodiversity, water quality and the wider environment.
All events are at Rugby Eco Hub, Claremont Centre, Clifton Road CV21 3QE. Doors open at 7pm
Attendance is free, but suggested donation is £2.
Please come and help us set up and have a cuppa with everybody so that we are ready for a 7:30pm start.
